麥奀雲吞麵世家 - Mak's Noodle

Binnie was the one who told me about Mak's Noodle ( 麥奀雲吞麵世家) many years ago. I didn't get to try this famous wanton noodles until last sunday.

There was an article outside of this restaurant. It had a picture of Anthony Bourdain. I figured that he has eaten the noodles here before. Naturally, I was excited to try.

I was shocked when the waiter came with a small rice bowl. That was my order of wanton noodles. Everything was in that small bowl - noodles, wanton and soup! Erm... was that a kid's size meal? Can I upsize? Gosh! That was the smallest bowl of wanton mee ever served.

But I must say that the soup base is quite "shiok". The taste and smell of shrimps were strong. They didn't stinge on the ingredients alright. :) Perhaps, they could increase the portion just a little more, that would have been great!

I like Mak's too and would not hesitate to recommend the store. The texture of the noodle is so al dente and Q Q. Re the shrimp dumplings/wantons, they're ok though at some other stalls they are larger and the shrimps are super fresh!
